Five days of activities will see the Jersey Museum buzzing with children during this event. The activities planned for this popular event are aimed at 7 - 12 year olds.

Sunday 2nd April - Grand Opening of Mont Orgueil
Jerseys most famous Heritage site re-opens its doors, after a £4.5 million restoration project that has opened up a labyrinth of stairways and passages and rooms previously closed to the public. Saturday 15th April - Easter Fayre
At the heart of Jerseys rural past, Hamptonne provides the perfect venue for our Easter Fayre. Make an Easter bonnet, paint an Easter Egg, create an Easter Flower display or just soak up the atmosphere, with a variety of stalls, food and live entertainment on offer.

Saturday 29th April Monday 1st May - A Tudor Ladys Still Room at Mont Orgueil
Travel back in time and watch the preparation of medicinal, household and sugar work, including electaries, plaisters, tisanes and distilled waters. Saturday 22nd Sunday 23rd July - Napoleonic Experience at Elizabeth Castle
The Grenadier Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Food Guards join forces with the local Jersey Militia to transport visitors back to the Napoleonic era. Enjoy some of the interactive displays including drill sessions and demonstrations on infantry tactics. Learn about the life of a soldier and the role of women in the army as well as the general tactics of Napoleonic warfare. Organised by the Jersey Heritage Trust 01534 633300

Friday 11th Sunday 13th August - Hamptonne Fair
A celebration of rural crafts, with old favourites such as the Bale Maze, Farmers' Races, Animal Tangle and Pond Dipping, to say nothing of the many art and craft activities. Adults can enjoy gentler pursuits such as watching the demonstrators at work, talking to experts in country crafts, soaking up the atmosphere in the sunny meadow or tasting some delicious traditional food in the old style cafe. Re-enactors from the UK will provide a series of market stalls with peddlers and street traders selling their wares and crafts. The annual festival of cider, when the apples are crushed, the pulp pressed and the juice put into barrels ready for the next cider crop. There was a time when cider was one of Jerseys largest export and the drink was made on farms all over the Island. Medieval & Tudor Hawking Mont Orgueil Falconers
Discover the origins of falconry, the penalties for keeping a bird above your station and the methods used to train birds in medieval times. See the magnificent hawks in action. Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. 2nd April 30th September.
ECW swordsman and Napoleonic soldier
Come along and watch the re-enactment of an ECW swordsman and Napoleonic soldier. All day Saturdays at the Castle. 2nd April 30th September.
Mont Orgueil Archers

The Dukes Leopards
The Company of the Duke's Leopards makes a triumphant return to Mont Orgueil Castle. Come along to the Castle and take a step back in time and see what life might have been like in a medieval castle more than 500 years ago.

Maximum Meaning, Minimum Means: the graphic art of Abram Games

Artwork by one of the twentieth centurys most influential designers - Abram Games (1914-1996) who created symbols for the Festival of Britain & the BBC. Including posters made while an official war artist, adverts for Guinness & award winning stamp designs commissioned by the Island of Jersey.

All that remains of the Neolithic landscape that once existed in St Ouens Bay are peat beds. This exhibition tells the story of the Forgotten Forest & includes archaeological objects never before displayed & a specially commissioned aerial reconstruction.

The fascinating story of how in the summer of 2005 Hamptonne became the fictitious village of Melstock for the filming of Thomas Hardys novel; including photographs documenting the transformation & sets used in the television production.

A new exhibition that, through a range of resources including interactives, explains the story of the Jersey Cow & its importance in history, culture & agriculture the origins, development & protection of the unique breed, its place in the world cattle market & the present day local dairy industry.

Missing Towers
(from June 2006)
Jerseys coastal fortifications have played a major part in the protection of the Island but some towers were destroyed in the 19th century or during the Occupation. The fascinating story of the Martello, Conway & Round Towers is told in a series of texts & images including very early photographs.

In October 2005 John Nasey directed a photographic workshop inspired by aspects of Mont Orgueil Castle. This exhibition shows a selection of the diverse images that were produced by the students & celebrates the re-opening of this unique Jersey landmark.
