Walk 6 - Rozel Woods - St Martin
Attractions
St. Martin

The best vantage-point to enjoy this pretty woodland is from the small reservoir known as La Maseline. Not only are waterfowl present, moorhen in particular, but strikingly colourful dragonflies and damselflies constantly patrol the water during late summer.

The reservoir is stocked with some fine fish, carp frequently appear close to the surface, and on warm days there’s a chance of spotting a terrapin (an introduced species) basking on exposed logs. Add to this a wealth of birdsong in early summer and you have one of the most tranquil areas in which to spend a little time.

The car parking area is close to the reservoir and the pathway is reasonably flat, but there are loose and half-buried stones, Access is only as far as the stream, about a hundred metres, which is crossed by stepping-stones.
